group celebrates record year

Year end sales reflect success of year for top workplace development group

Leading workplace development company, the Eastlake Group, is celebrating its most successful year yet as 2007 comes to a close.

The company, acquired by CEO David Eastlake in 2003, has gone from strength to strength since the MBO, this year securing two of their highest sales months ever with £3m revenue in both October and November – a record for the business.
In addition, the company – which is headquartered in East Kilbride - has expanded significantly, taking over Leeds-based furniture manufacturers, Burdew, the organisation’s first foray into the manufacturing side of the business. The growth in the success of the Wales base resulted in a move into new premises, reflecting the Group’s substantial investment and support for the region. This expansion, along with the company restructure at the start of 2007, has seen staff numbers increase to 170 and projected turnover increase from £22m in 2006 to £30m in 2007.

David Eastlake, CEO of the Group, commented: “2007 has been a hugely successful year for the Group and I’m delighted with the performance of all our staff across the UK who have helped us to get where we are today. This last year has seen us winning substantial key new accounts, starting the year with completion of the new offices for SMG, then the BT Showcase + Innovation Centre in Stockport, and winning the contract to create a world class news production centre for ITN in London.

“We already have major plans for 2008, which will include a new facility for CM3 – the Belfast arm of our operation, refurbishing our own HQ in East Kilbride, a new warehouse facility in Scotland as well as a new facility for our Leeds based manufacturer, more than trebling the size to 25,000 sq ft and the capacity of the factory to allow us to continue to grow the business.

“All these developments mean we’ll be looking at increasing staff numbers by up to 20% as well as constantly looking for continued opportunities with new and existing clients.

“I’m hugely excited about the future of the business. We already have an unprecedented level of work secured for 2008 so I’m confident that next year will be another record year for Eastlake.
