The £800,000 acquisition is the second for the Group since an MBO by David Eastlake in 2003, and is the Group’s first foray into the manufacturing sector.

Greaves goes interactive

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

Shoppers are being offered an interactive experience when shopping for sports gear thanks to a new investment by Glasgow-based Greaves Sports.

greaves.jpgThe long established family business has invested almost £30,000 to bring its flagship city centre store up to date with the introduction of a new audio-visual display system. The system enables Greaves to showcase its products using state of the art equipment and is intended to drive sales forward.

The system was designed and fitted by audio-visual design experts, WAVE – a part of eastlake commercial interiors (eci) , and combines state of the art AV systems with the latest, most technically advanced sports products.
They have risen to the challenge presented to them by Greaves and demonstrated that technology can provide phenomenal visual impact by designing four different areas in the flag ship store on Gordon Street to showcase top of the range sports products in the best light. Areas within the store to be given an interactive makeover include the New Balance Sports Clinic, treadmill area and golf department.

The benefits of these display systems are far reaching and WAVE’s Integrated Systems solution means that the right content for ‘Greaves TV’ can be zoned and managed to be displayed at the right locations at the right time. The investment into such technology will ensure that Greaves Sports stay at the top of the retail game and continue to improve its customer offering.

Ann Leslie, Manager Director of Greaves Sports said: “We are delighted with the finished result. The state of the art audiovisual equipment which has been installed allows us to show our customers our products in use, providing them with a great impression before they buy. This is a great forward thinking idea, which ensures that we keep our business one step ahead and we are also making the most of the changing face of technology which can greatly benefit and enhance the environment of any retail business.”

Ewen Grimes, Director AV Solutions, WAVE said, “This has been a great opportunity to work with one of Glasgow’s most renowned family businesses. The equipment which we have installed is a fantastic way to showcase what businesses have to offer. It has created an extremely modern and dynamic look on the shop floor, which will catch the eye of customers and drive sales forward.”
